Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief a fun and engaging novel written by Rick Riordan who has woven a tale almost on par with a certain god. Although a movie has been made about it is HIGHLY recommended NOT to watch as it would ruin your view of the book.

The Lightning Thief is a part of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series created by author Rick Riordan in which there are 5 books. The story of Percy Jackson continues with the other series 'The Heroes of Olympus' and 'The Trial of Apollo'. There are also other books that contains short stories that includes characters from the universe and crossovers from other books that he has written.

I would also recommend 'The Kane Chronicles' and 'Magnus Chase' if you like Egyptian and Norse mythology.
