A wandering psychic has arrived in the Lower East side of New York City and claims that she can tell anyone the day they die. The Gold Children who has heard that the psychic has arrived sneaks out to visit the psychic with the psychic then foretelling the next five decades of their lives. During these five decades we follow Simon who searches for love on the West coast in San Francisco, Klara a Las Vegas magician looking to blur the lines between magic and reality, Daniel an army doctor who is seeking security after 9/11 and Varya who is researching longevity so she can test the boundaries between science and immortality.

The Immortalists seeks to show how far they can experiment with the boundaries between destiny, choice, reality, illusion, this world and the next as each of the Gold Children has encompassed a key idea of the concept.
